My Favorites

I am a person who enjoys a lot of activities during the week to be happy. Wellington and the surrounding communities provide the perfect blend of sporting activities and places to just get away and relax. Places like my favorite fishing spot or the local dog park gives me  a sense of community while enjoying the outdoors. I am always delighted to take advantages of all the exceptional things South Florida has to offer. Here is a list of My Favorite things to do around Palm Beach

Favorite Local Dog Parks

I certainly enjoy taking my dog Nico to either the Wellington dog park or other surrounding dog parks. Most dog parks in the area are all recently new and very well maintained. There are obviously more people playing with their dogs on the weekends, but you and your dog can always make a new friends at one of these dog parks anytime. Most are open from dust to dawn seven days a week.

  1. Greenbriar Dog Park, Wellington-2975 Greenbriar Blvd. -Directions: Greenveiw shores blvd. past Wellington country club, park is on S.W. corner.
  2. Pooch Pines at Okeeheelee Park
  3. Jupiter Beach Dog Park

Favorite Local Beaches

White sand and turquoise waters make the local beaches one of my favorite places to get away and clear my mind. Considering the  ocean borders all three sides of Florida, there are plenty of pristine and perfect beaches all around. All beaches in South Florida are beautiful but here is a small list of my very favorite ones.

  1. Flag Pole on the Island of Palm Beach- This beach is one of my favorites. Named flag pole by natives because of the majestic American flag flying there.  Not only do you have a wide palm lined beach but you are surrounded by stunning multimillion dollar mansions on the Island of Palm Beach. This beach makes you feel relaxed and serene. You will find many locals enjoying  Flag Pole as well. On a nice windy day you can lay back and watch the deep blue ocean or kite surfers fly through the sky. Directions- Drive East on Okeechobee Blvd and over the Royal Park Bridge onto the Island of Palm Beach. Follow Royal Palm Way all the way East until you see the ocean. Park in a public metered spot and enjoy!
  2. Lake Worth Beach- Enjoying Lake Worth Beach is like stepping back in time. Not much has  changed in the last 60 years. Let the sun’s rays embrace your skin or  enjoy the shade under one of the many old weathered palm trees. Its a great people watching beach. If you like to fish off piers then you are really going to enjoy Lake Worth’s pier, which is one of the longest municipal piers on Florida’s Atlantic coast.
  3. Phipps Ocean Park- This is a great tucked away beach on the island of Palm Beach. It is also a perfect beach if you are looking to enjoy a barbecue with friends. There are picnic tables with grills that are screened from the South Florida sun by old huge banyan trees. During certain times of the year exposed rocks exist close to the shoreline which make it great for snorkeling.

Favorite Coffee Shops

Considering we live in South Florida there are not as many coffee shops as up North, but in recent years,  South Floridians have seen  coffee shops on the  increase. Here is a list of some of my favorites.

  1. STARBUCKS COFFEE- There are two Starbucks in Wellington but I enjoy one much more than the other. The one I enjoy is more relaxed and has a nice out door seating area. Directions- 10580 Forest Hill Blvd.
  2. Mamma che Buono- If you want to enjoy an authentic Italian coffee then you should drive to City Place in downtown West Palm Beach. Not only is the coffee and gelato fantastic but the atmosphere is ideal. Recently they opened a Mamma che Buono in the Wellington Mall as well, but I prefer the location in City Place.
